David Spalding has spent his entire career in the field of leveraged finance and brings to The Cypress Group expertise in retailing, manufacturing and consumer products. He has been Vice Chairman of Cypress since he helped found the company in April, 1994. Prior to joining Cypress, Mr. Spalding was a managing director in Lehman Brothers' merchant banking group and a member of the investment committee. Before that, Mr. Spalding was a senior vice president of GE Capital Corporate Finance Group, Inc. Mr. Spalding began his career at The Chase Manhattan Bank. He has served on numerous boards and is currently a director of Lear Corporation, AMTROL, and Williams Scotsman. He holds an AB from Dartmouth College and an MBA from New York University.
