Before joining The Cypress Group in November 2001, Gene Lee worked for TH Lee Putnam Ventures, a venture capital fund affiliated with The Thomas Lee Company. Previously, he worked for two years as an associate at Morgan Stanley in several areas, including mergers and acquisitions, high yield capital markets, Internet financial services and risk arbitrage trading. Prior to that, Mr. Lee was a financial analyst for Princes Gate Investors, a private equity fund affiliated with Morgan Stanley, and for Morgan Stanley's mergers and acquisitions group. At The Cypress Group, Mr. Lee focuses on the healthcare and financial services industries. Mr. Lee received an MA in economics from The University of Chicago and graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in economics.
